Lenovo Announces Yoga 3 Pro, ThinkPad YOGA 14, Yoga Tablet 2 and Yoga Tablet 2 Pro
Recently, Lenovo has announced the Lenovo Yoga Series line and it’s not just the Yoga 3 Pro. They have also launched 4 devices which are Yoga 3 Pro, ThinkPad Yoga 14, Yoga Tablet 2, and Yoga Tablet 2 Pro.
The Yoga 14 is Lenovo’s first business convertible. It’s a business-centric device sporting a 14-inch screensize. It’s quite thin and has a huge storage of 1 TB of HDD with a 16GB cache. One thing I love about the device is that it has a NVIDIA GeForce 840 mobile GPU. However, what I didn’t like was the i5 processor. I wished it has the i7 intel processor or the new Intel M processor. But I think what separates Yoga 14 to other yoga products is the support that Lenovo will have for these devices. Their warranty will include Accidental Damage protection, Extended Warranty, and Priority Technical support.
The next product that was introduced was the Yoga 3 Pro. It’s a consumer grade product (which can be used for business as well) which still has the QHD+ 3200×1800 display. Inside, it is powered by a Core M mobile processor which is touted to be a great battery saver. This means it could increase the battery life dramatically but we don’t have the figures so far. One thing I really like with the Yoga 3 pro is the full SSD device which makes booting up quite snappy and I love using it for work when I am doing training with users.
They also showed the new Yoga Tablet 2 line. They both have 8 inch and 10 inch display models with Android and Windows as the operating system. All tablets has Intel Atom x86 inside which can carry a Windows 8 (not RT, mind you) Operating system and Android Operating System. But I am not quite sure whether they have it on dual boot. It would be cool if it did though. Unfortunately, I think you really have to choose which operating system you want for these devices.
Finally, they unveiled the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. It’s a 13-inch tablet which has an Android 4.4 kitkat operating system. This tablet is not built to be taken elsewhere out of the home but Lenovo is aiming it to be the best multimedia device. This tablet has a PICO PROJECTOR where you can project videos for up to 50 inches big. It also has a JBL-brand sound system on it with a 5-watt subwoofer. Yes, you read that right, a pico projector with a Subwoofer.
Guess what’s the price of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is? It’s $499.00! (which translates to roughly 22k pesos and 1850 QAR).
